Obituary

Mr. Richard William Moore-Blackburn passed away on Monday, March 13, 2023.  A native of Chicago, lL, Richard was the son of Richard and Kathleen Blackburn.  He completed his education at East Layden HIgh School in Franklin Park, IL.  At 19, he relocated to Spartanburg, SC and began his career as a carpenter for American Remodeling.  Richard enjoyed the outdoors, dirt bikes, and NASCAR.  He was a man with strong opinions and sense of certainty.  A loving and caring father, he was funny, yet, hard-working.

In addition to his parents, his survivors include his sons; Matthew Moore of Chicago, IL, Nicholas Moore (Carmen) of Spartanburg, SC, and Jeremiah Moore (Marissa) of Spartanburg, SC; daughter, Jessica Moore (David Kimbrell) of Inman, SC; brothers, Rick Blackburn, Jr.(Renee) and Billy Moore of Atlanta, GA; sisters, Jakie Moore of Minnesota, Crystal Blackburn of Wellford, SC, and Susie Moore of Illinois; and his grandchildren, Zachary, Alan, Callie, Bella, Maylon, Willow, Alivia, and Lucas; grandmother, Katherine Lemmons of Cowpens; and a host of relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his adoptive father, Bill Moore.
