Obituary

On Tuesday, May 9, 2023, Mr. Marion Keith McCluney entered into eternal rest.  A native of Spartanburg, he was the son of Mattie McCluney and the late Emory McCluney.  Marion attended Cumming Street School and was a longtime employee of Ed Hines Landscaping.  He loved God, his mother, his children, siblings and other relatives.  Marion enjoyed watching old westerns on TV, old-school R&B, and dancing.  He was full of life and was an all around good guy.

In addition to his mother, he leaves to cherish fond memories:  three sons, Jonathan Arthur (Ranata), Marion Lamont Gentry, and Marcus Gentry of Spartanburg, SC; his daughter, Lekiah Renea Arthur of Spartanburg; brother, Bernard Mathis of Spartanburg; four sisters, Gerri D. Reeder of Cowpens, Jacqueline Gentry of Spartanburg, Sharon M. Holbert of Spartanburg; and Melinda Lynn of Spartanburg; twenty-one grandchildren; five great grandchildren, special friend, Nancy Burton; and a host of relatives and friends.

Marion was preceded in death by his father, and siblings, Gregory McCluney, Kenneth McCluney, Sylvia Smith, and Jackie Salters.
