Leatrice Whitlock-Cox Obituary

Mrs. Leatrice Laverne Whitlock-Cox passed way on February 20, 2022.  A native of Columbus, GA, she was the daughter of the late Andrew Jackson McIntyre and the late Ella Mae Bailey McIntyre. After graduating from high school, Mrs. Cox received her bachelor's degree in Library Science form Columbus College.  A faithful and loving wife to Robert Russell Whitlock for 38 years until his death, she found companionship with Lawrence Cox with whom she was wed until his passing.  Mrs. Cox worked as the librarian at Greenville Technical College form 1970 to her retirement in !998.  While in Greenville she attended West Gantt Baptist Church and was a member of the Order of Eastern Star.  Mrs. Cox loved reading, working crosswords, bingo, bowling dancing and music.  She was a friendly, outgoing, people person who loved the Clemson Tigers.  Mrs. Cox and will be greatly missed. 

She is survived by two daughters, Susan Whitlock Mabry and Sarah Arlene Whitlock of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren, Brian Scott Washburn (Donna) of Bellevue, FL, Jason Robert Washburn (Melanie) of Iva, SC, Jeremy Alan Watson (Linda) of Reidville, SC, Laura Watson Chandler (Shaun) of Mauldin, SC, Jonathan Ross Mabry (Paola) of Spartanburg, SC, Joshua Dushane of Greenville, SC; a special cousin, Beverly Riddick of Columbus, GA; nine great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren..

Mrs. Cox was preceded in death by her daughter, Sherry Whitlock Dushane.
