Juanita Werts Obituary

In the early morning of Wednesday, April 22, 2020, the Angels of Mercy brought everlasting peace to Ms. Juanita Susan Werts. Juanita was the daughter of the late Barthaniel C. Werts and the late Christine Williams Werts. She was graduate of Carver High School and Johnson C. Smith University. Upon her graduation from college she embarked a a teaching career that took her from Philadelphia, PA Schools to Spartanburg County School District 2. Juanita was a proud educator who loved to share her joy of reading.

She leaves to cherish fond memories: her daughter, Christina Vachon Werts of Spartanburg; grandsons, Javian Isaiah Werts and Keylon Vachon Bomar, both of Spartanburg; granddaughter, Jamari Anyah Werts of Spartanburg; and great granddaughter, Zamariah Amyah Werts of Spartanburg; sisters, Azalee Ponds and Scottie Werts-Watson, both of Spartanburg, and Bernadine Hall (Ray) of Raleigh, NC; and brothers, Barthaniel Werts, Jr. of Valdosta, GA and O'Keefe Werts of Philadelphia, PA.

Juanita was preceded in death by her sister, Rosalind Werts.
