Obituary

Mr. Austin Lavelle Morgan, Sr.  entered eternal rest on Tuesday, November 8, 2022.  A native of Meridian, MS, he was the son of the late Chester Lawrence Morgan and the late Mamie Thrash Morgan.  Mr. Morgan started his career at Bemis Bag Co. in Mobile, Al and later in Houston, TX.   In the mid eighties, he relocated to Spartanburg to work for the International Paper Co. (later ExoPack) where was a supervisor.   He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed skiing, fishing and boating.

His survivors include:  his children,  Austin Morgan, Jr. (Polly) of Conroe, TX, Kelly Belue (Gene) of Landrum, SC,  and Todd Morgan (Betsey) of Austin, TX; eleven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; his significant other, Sherry Berry of Greer, SC; and a host of other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Morgan was predeceased by his daughter, Wendy Taylor; siblings, Larry Morgan, Jr., Nettie Reaves; and Alline Williams; and grandson, Steven Morgan.
