On May 17, 1938, in Spartanburg, S.C. Milton and Eula Harris welcomed Wilburn Eugene Harris, who was the first born of seven children. He was affectionally to many as "Pete".  Educated in Spartanburg City Schools, Pete was a lifelong member of Macedonia Baptist Church, where served diligently.  He never waivered in his love for GOD.  Pete was seen daily walking swiftly on Howard Street.  He would wave and smile at the many cars that passed him by.  He was well known in his community and  lived independently as he met the challenges of autism.

On Saturday, March 2, 2024, Pete was embraced by GOD and escorted to his Heavenly Home.  While he will be missed, we rest assured and are encouraged that he is safe in the Master's arms.

He leaves to cherish his memory: two sisters, Fran Harris Whitcomb, Greensboro, NC, and Mary Harris, Spartanburg, SC;  and a host of nieces, nephews. cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Pete was preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Eula Harris, one sister, Georgia Harris Thacker, three brothers, Jeff, Ray, and Thomas.
