Thomas Arthur McDade Sr., 65, passed away on October 22, 2026.

Born on August 23, 1961, Thomas was educated in the Asheville, North Carolina, schools. He went on to build his working life as an automobile mechanic, a trade that reflected both skill and dedication. He was also known for the interests that brought him enjoyment throughout his life, especially working on cars and fishing.

Above all, Thomas will be remembered by those who knew and loved him best. He shared 38 years of marriage with his wife, Betty McDade, and together they built a family that was a lasting source of pride and love. He is survived by his sons, Thomas McDade Jr. and his wife, Paula, of Spartanburg, and Matthew McDade of Spartanburg. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Hayden McDade, Chase Owens, Jazmyn Owens, and Noah McDade, all of Spartanburg, who will carry forward treasured memories of their grandfather. He is also survived by his sister, Patricia Davis of Asheville, North Carolina.

Thomas was preceded in death by his father, William McDade; his mother, Barbara McDade; and his brother, John Anthony McDade.

He will be remembered with love by his family and with respect by all who knew him. His life was marked by devotion to his work, enjoyment of simple pleasures, and deep family ties, and his memory will remain close to the hearts of those he leaves behind.
