On Sunday, August 14, 2022, Thomas Edwin Ferguson entered eternal rest. The son of the late Oliver Clinton Ferguson and the late Annie Laura Wood Ferguson, he was raised and educated in Spartanburg, and attended St. Joseph Catholic Church. Tommy was employed by Spring Industries for over 30 years and was the owner of Ferguson's Tavern. He was a man with many talents and interests. He loved fishing, NASCAR (his favorite driver was Mark Martin), cruising, bowling, the South Carolina Gamecocks, Los Angeles Lakers, Green Bay Packers, and dancing his signature dance, the "Tom Drop Shuffle". Tom Drop was a founding member of the Enforcers Band for whom he played guitar for many years. He served his community by serving as a Lieutenant for the Tyger River Fire Department.
He is survived by his loving wife, Diane Ferguson of the home; sons, Tyrone Foster (April) of Moore, SC and Timothy Ferguson of Spartanburg; daughters, Lashun Ferguson Bennon (Chris) of Duncan, SC and Candice Christian (Eric) of Columbia SC; his sister, Jacquelyn Ferguson Foster of Gaffney; brothers, Lonnie W. Ferguson of Columbia, Oliver C. Ferguson, Jr. of Columbia, Arthur P. Ferguson of Atlanta, GA, Francis M. Ferguson (Beverly) of Atlanta, GA, and Richard S. Ferguson of Spartanburg; grandchildren, Aaleahya Ferguson, Demetrian Bennon, Timothy Ferguson, Jr., Bethanie Murriel, and Cameron Jackson; his in-laws, Annie Johnson, Georgia Foster, Linda Foster, and Bruce Foster; and special friends, Bobby Foster, Charles Davis, Mike Coker, and Frankie Fernandez; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by his brothers-in-law, Hezekiah Foster, Jr. and Mance Foster, Jr.; and sister-in-law, Gloria S. Ferguson.
