Mrs. Shelly Jean Thomas entered eternal rest on Wedneday, August 13, 2025 after an extended illness.  A native of Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late Orie Collins and the late Lillie Pearl Jones.  After completing her education, she had a long and loving marriage to James Thomas until his death in 2012.  Shelly was a nurturing mother to her three children while maintaining employment in the textile industry.  She loved cleaning, working crosswords and TV Westerns.  She had a sweet disposition, but did not hesitate to make her position known.  Above all, she loved her family and her God.

Left to cherish fond memories are: her children, Tracy Jones of Union, Travis Jones of Spartanburg, and Kimberly Dawkins of Union;  brother, James Jones of Spartanburg; sisters, Janice Jones of Spartanburg,  Mary Greene of Spartanburg, Betty Green of Winder, GA, and Debra Greene of Spartanburg; grandchildren, Terisita Jones, Amtravlis Jones, and Janashia Wofford, all of Spartanburg; four great grandchildren; Te'Zaria Jones, Antionette Burris, Messiah Gist, and Am'oryia Jones; and a host of relatives and friends.

In additon to her husband and parents, Shelly was preceded in death by her sisters, Patricia Jones and Lisa Green; and her grandparents, Beulah Jones and Charlie Jones.
