On September 26, 2020, Mr. Ronnie Levernon Payden entered into eternal rest.  A native of Spartanburg, Mr. Payden was the son of the late Oscar L. Payden and Nelia Gray Payden Canty.  Ronnie was a member of the Dorman High School Class of 1969 and received his Associate's Degree from Rutledge College.

He leaves to cherish fond memories: his wife Tanya Payden of the home; son, Rodney Payden of Spartanburg; stepdaughters, Briana Ballenger and Chelsea Ballenger, both of Spartanburg; seven sisters, Linda (Kenneth) Sanders of Spartanburg, Donna  (Wayne) Thomas of Moore, Paula (Charles)  Littlejohn of Duncan, Janet  (Willie) Wheeler of Jacksonville, FL, Brenda Canty of Spartanburg, Vivian Canty of Spartanburg, and Carol Cross of Spartanburg; three brothers, Tony Payden of Roebuck, Keith (Vanessa) Canty Sr. of Hampton, GA, and John ((LaTanya) Canty of Orvilla, TX; one grandson, Learneala Payden of Spartanburg; a  granddaughter, Lonnisha Payden of Spartanburg; three great grandchildren, Jordan Drummond, Zunarii Payden and Kamryn Payden, all of Spartanburg; godson, Ricardo Ali White of Spartanburg; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

In addition to his parents, Ronnie was preceded in death by: his daughter, Tarmarra Payden; granddaughter, Lillian M. Payden; sister, Wanda Canty; brother, Gary Payden, Sr.; and his stepfather, John Canty, Jr.
