On Wednesday, December 10, 2025, Ricky L. Kelly, Jr. passed away after a tragic accident.  A native of Spartanburg, he was the son of Nekkesha Irby and Rick Kelly.  Ricky was graduate of Spartanburg High School Classof 2024.  He was employed at Bojangles, and loved playing basketball and listening to music.  Ricky was smart, hardworking and had lots of friends.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by: his grandparents, Shiley Irby and Ervin M. Irby; brother, Kenion Garrett; sisters, Za'keya Irby, Jocelyn Irby; nieces, Brooklyn Foster, Koa Irby; nephews, Cayden Irby and Ryan Foster, Jr.; uncles, Donald Peake, Gary Kelly, Wayne Kelly; aunts, Tequila Miller, Janice Irby, Melissa Martin, and Stephanie Kelly; and a host of cousins and friends who loved him dearly.
