Means, Sr.
February 2, 1954 – April 24, 2026
Marion Louis Means, 72, a beloved father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and friend, passed away on April 24, 2026.
Marion was a charismatic and vibrant individual who never met a stranger. Known for his warm spirit and engaging personality, he brought joy to those around him. He had a deep passion for music and songwriting, composing more than 100 songs, and was also a talented sketch artist.
He honorably served as a weapons mechanic in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam era. Following his active duty service, he continued his commitment in the United States Air Force Reserve, during which time he earned an Associate’s degree in Business from Rutledge College.
Marion was the son of the late Carrie Lee Rice and John Means and was lovingly raised by his grandparents, the late David Faucette and Carrie Lee Faucette.
His Legacy will be continued by his sons, Jermaine Gentry, Marion Means Jr, Varian Means, Michael (Tasha) Means, Terrance Otey, Devin Davis and daughter Monique Means of Spartanburg, S.C.
He is also survived by his siblings: Betty Joe (Clarence T.) Harris, Rosa Rice, Tommy Lee (Patricia) Rice, and Lewis Rice.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Theodore Means, Dean Rice, and Frank Rice.
Marion’s legacy will live on through his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.
Rest Easy Marion, your memory will live on through your family, our hearts will forever be imprinted by your unwavering love and unforgettable personality!
