Obituary

Louise Elmore, a beloved mother, sister, and cherished member of the Spartanburg community, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2026, at Magnolia Manor. Born on May 4, 1942, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, Louise embraced life with a heart full of gratitude and a spirit devoted to sharing joy and kindness with those around her.

Throughout her life, Louise found simple pleasures that brought light to her days. She loved immersing herself in the comforting and familiar worlds of Andy Griffith and CSI, her favorite television shows that she would often watch with heartfelt enthusiasm. Music also held a special place in her heart, providing a soundtrack to the moments she cherished and a source of solace and happiness.

Louise was known for her warm and thankful nature—an open and giving soul who delighted in sharing her blessings with others. Her personality was a beacon of kindness and generosity, traits that endeared her to family and friends alike.

She was born into the loving family of Martoral Crook and Willie Mae Smith, who have since passed on but left a legacy of love that she carried forward in her own family. She is survived by her devoted children—Rowena Ridgeway, Sherbert Elmore, Elaine Elmore, Stanley Elmore, and Dora Elmore—all of Spartanburg, SC, as well as James Elmore of Boston, MA, and Tony Elmore of Duncan, SC. Louise was also blessed with the companionship of her brother, Roy Crook, of White Plains, NY.

Her passing leaves a tender void in the hearts of those who knew her. Yet it is through their memories—the laughter shared, the lessons learned, and the love given so freely—that Louise Elmore’s legacy will continue to shine brightly. Her life was a testament to the beauty found in thankfulness and the profound impact of a generous spirit.

As we remember Louise, may we hold dear the gift she was to this world and carry forward the warmth she so effortlessly extended to all. In celebrating her life, we honor a remarkable woman whose presence was a blessing to all who had the privilege to know her.
