Katie Louise Ball Buchanan, 74 went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 8, 2021. Born in Asheville, NC

she has lived in Rutherford County for the last 22 years. Those left to cherish her memory include her

husband of 57 years, Sherrill Dean Buchanan of the home, two daughters Karen Whitten (Glenn) of Candler, NC.

and Sherry Black (David) of Carlsbad, New Mexico, one son Mark Buchanan of Candler, NC and one

sister, Marie Brackett (J.D.) of Forest City, NC. Louise had 4 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and 1

great-great grandchild. Louise was a very loving and caring nurse who worked in the surrounding area

for over 20 years. She was greatly loved and will be missed more than words can say.

A Memorial Service will be held at Shelby SDA in Shelby, NC on May 8th at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers,

memorials in her name may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, PO Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043
