On Monday, June 17, 2024, Mr. John Gilbert Lipscomb, Sr. entered eternal rest.  A native of Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late Harvey and Lillian Lipscomb.  At the time of his passing, Mr. Lipscomb was residing in the home of his daughter, Yoletta Lipscomb Salinas, in Lansing, MI. He was married to the late Estella Jackson Lipscomb for many years.  Before his retirement, Mr. Lipscomb worked at Coca-Cola Bottling Co., S & S Manufacturing, and the Tire Corral.   He was kind, quiet man who enjoyed helping his family and others.

Mr. Lipscomb leaves to cherish fond memories: his daughter, Yoletta (Anthony) Salinas of Lansing, Michigan; grandchildren, April Lipscomb of Spartanburg, Tawana Lipscomb of Spartanburg; and Yatara Salinas of Michigan, Arantes Salinas, Armando (Jackie) Salinas, and Antonio (Anna) Salinas, all of Lansing, MI; great grandchildren, Meisha Jeter, Tayquan Jeter, Ariyanna Evins,  Kyimaran Evins, all of Spartanburg; great great grandchildren, Ashton Jeter, Kaire Jeter, and Kingstyn Jeter, Hakeem Lipscomb, and Kareem Lipscomb, all of Spartanburg, and Isaac Salinas of Michigan; Janay Damico and Jayona Damico, both of Michigan.

In addition to his wife, Mrs. Estella Lipscomb, Mr. Lipscomb was preceded in death by his sons, John Lipscomb, Jr. and Michael Lipscomb; and grandchildren, Michael Jr., Mahagony, and Marcus.
