Mr. Derek Wilson was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina on August 29, 1951.  He was the son of the late Mr. Ben Wilson and the late Mrs. Lula M. Wilson.  Mr. Wilson peacefully entered in eternal rest on February 24, 2022.

He was educated in the Spartanburg County schools and retired from Aden Bonding Warehouse.  His hobbies were watching western movies and playing solitaire.   He was of the Baptist faith.

Mr. Wilson leaves to cherish fond memories: his wife, Debra Wilson of Spartanburg; daughters, Pamela Jackson of Inman and Derika Wilson of Duncan; sons, Marcus (Ashley) Jones of San Antonio, TX, Joseph Jones of the home, Derek Meadors of Spartanburg, and Joshua (Tonica) Jones of Atlanta, GA; sisters, Mrs. Bennie W. (Rev. Bernard) Mayberry and Nancy (Ernest) Smith , both of Spartanburg; brother, Maurice Colvin of Spartanburg; grandchildren, Joshua, Jr., Tyonia, Myonia, Jereel and Janaviah Jones, Destini and Raekwon Wilson, Dezmond, Dy'shon, Devontay, and D'Andre Chapman; six great grandchildren; and two special nephews, Bernard and Jermaine Mayberry; nephew, Earl Colvin of Spartanburg; and a host of other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his uncles, Mr. James Robinson and Mr. Choice Agnew, Jr., and grandmothers, Mrs. Brazella Dixon and Ms. Ruth McDaniel.
