Obituary

De’Carlos ‘Sheila’ Jackson, a radiant soul born on May 8, 1975, in Atlanta, Georgia, left us far too soon on January 24, 2026, in Spartanburg, South Carolina. With an effervescent spirit that drew people in, Sheila was a loving son, sister, and friend, whose vivacious personality brightened the lives of those lucky enough to know her.

Sheila grew up in Atlanta, Georgia and received her education at Ronald McNair High School. From a young age, she embraced the world of work, beginning her journey in the fast food industry as a teenager at McDonald's. Her dedication and charm led her to become a Shift Manager at Wendy's in Spartanburg, South Carolinawhere her customer service skills truly shined. At the time of her passing, she held the position of Shift Manager at Taco Bell in Spartanburg, continuing her legacy of service with honesty and a belief in the good in everyone around her.

Beyond her professional life, Sheila had a passion for cooking, with a special love for baking. It was said that her joyous spirit found expression in her culinary creations, always eager to share stories and connect with others over a shared meal.

Sheila is survived by her beloved family: her mother, Felecia A. Gaither, and her brothers, Alejandro M. Gaither and John Fendal Jr., as well as her sister, Jenna Fendal. The warmth of her memory will continue to embellish the lives of her grandmother, Joreatha Jackson, and her aunts, Katrina Drake, Phyllis German, and Zenobia Trammel. Each one of them carries pieces of her essence within their hearts.

In celebrating Sheila's life, we remember her as a beacon of light whose laughter and kindness touched everyone she met. Her legacy will forever inspire those she leaves behind to see the beauty in the world around them. As we say goodbye to this remarkable soul, let us hold onto the warmth of her spirit and the sweet memories that make her life truly unforgettable.
