"Christine "Kay" Farr, Mother, Grandmother, Nurse, Friend, and Sarcasm Extraordinaire, passed away on Sunday, June 2nd, 2024 at Spartanburg Medical Center surrounded by her family. She was 75 years old and is survived by her three children: Ronnie (Pattie) Wheeler, Jennie (Bernard) Geddes, and Eli Farr, and her five grandchildren: Cassidy & Sadie Wheeler, and Grace, Jackson, & Clara Geddes. Kay loved to quilt, crochet, and cross-stitch, as well as giving away projects she had worked on for months. She had a green thumb that could take a single leaf, put it in a plastic solo cup of water, and nurture it into a full, beautiful plant. Nurturing came natural to her. Kay overcame an extremely challenging childhood and navigated her way through the trials of being a single parent. She consistently gave the proverbial, and sometimes literal, finger to any person that doubted her or any roadblock that stood in her way. She started by her earning her LPN in the 1970's and then, at the young age of 45 years old, returned to college for her Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), followed by the Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN), slowing down only after she had her Master Of Science in Nursing (MSN) Degree in Gerontology. She was the definition of determination, strength, and courage. She is loved and she is missed."
