On Sunday, January 23, 2022, Cecelia Diane Burgess entered eternal rest.  Diane was the daughter of the late Walter Depass Burgess and the late Fannie Mae Young Burgess.  She graduated from Foster's Grove High School in 1966, and furthered her education at Spelman College and Cecil's Business College.   Diane was employed as an Inspector at Hoechst Fibers.

Diane loved life and lived it to its fullest.   She was a socialite, a social butterfly who never met a stranger.  She was funny. vibrant and irreverent.  In short, she was fun.

Her survivors include: a daughter, Susan Burgess-Moore (Kendrick) of Greenville; two sons, Marvin Dean Burgess and Damion Burgess, both of Chesnee; a sister, Demetria Fernanders of Spartanburg; brother, Walter Depass Burgess of Chesnee; grandchildren, Starr Burgess and Lashaud Depass, and Daniel Foster; 23 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
