Mrs. Catherine Lexine Laughter Wines entered eternal rest on Thursday, July 20, 2023.  A native of Henderson County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Lyman and Gladys Laughter.  Mrs. Wines was educated in the local schools and as a teenager began working in the peach shed with her mother.  At the age of 20, she married her late husband, Jimmy Wines, and relocated to Spartanburg County.   She was a very sweet woman with a gentle disposition who worked hard caring for her family.

Her survivors include:  her daughter, Regina Wood of Spartanburg; three sons, James Wines (Debbie) of Gaffney, Johnny Wines of the home, and Ronald "Keith" Wines of the home; two grandchildren, Melody Wood of the home and Justin Foster of Spartanburg; eleven great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; her loving canine companion, Lexus; and a host of other relatives and friends.

In addition to husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Teacoa Lane, Francis Wilson, Lila Laughter, Janie Shields, Paul Laughter, Lyneal Laughter, Edith Heatherly, and Joyce Wyatt, and granddaughter, Kimberly Wood.

A Memorial Service will be held on August 5, 2023 at 11 am at 165 Sanders Road, Chesnee, SC.
